Difficulty: easy/moderate
Equipment: sturdy boots or shoes, boots are preferred option for ankle support.
Starting at Walker fold carpark.
Facing the refreshment trolley take the gate on the left hand side head up the hill.
The route splits at the top where you need to take the path with the wall on your left.
Through the next gate past the layby and down to the next gate.
Through the gate and take the next left.
At the gate turn right and follow the road round the bend to a slabbed path.
Turn left and follow the path up to the cairn known locally as the two lads.
At the two lads either retrace your steps back or follow the path on your right.
Follow the past until you reach the tower at the tower. You need to turn right and follow the road down until you meet some more slabs on the left hand side.
Go down the steps, fold the path and that will take you back to the roadside.
At the roadside you have a choice of turning left past the two ponds over the river where you meet the pass you came up on.
Turn left and follow the path round through a gate past the converted farm buildings on the left hand side and turn right.
Again follow the path to a junction
Bear slightly left but not to the gate along the flat slabbed path back to the starting point.
Warnings
The paths can be slippery in wet weather.
Loose gravel on some of the paths can be unnerving.
As stated earlier sturdy boots are recommended.
